Editing The Podcast!

Welcome back guys!

So today we are going to learn about Audacity and also Bandlab. In case you are wondering, both of these are tools that are used in order to edit out your voice or even songs.

First, let us review Audacity.

Audacity is an incredible free, open source audio editor that's just as good as many premium paid-for applications. You can use it to make your own recordings, remove noise, cut and combine clips, apply special effects and much more, and achieve truly professional results.

If all that isn't enough, you can expand Audacity with plugins that add new effects, or integration with other applications. There are no limits on the size or length of your projects, and nothing is locked behind a paywall. Whether you're making music, podcasts, audio books, or any other kind of project, Audacity is a truly fantastic tool.

It's very difficult to find fault with Audacity. The only criticism we could level at it would be that some tools are a little inconsistent in their design – a result of the size and diversity of its development team.

Next, let us review Bandlab.

The platform is designed with ease of use in mind so those new to music and voice production can smoothly sail through idea sketching and project creation, while also including enough to keep seasoned creatives engaged. It combines an online DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) suite with cloud storage and a collaborative community. Tools include a MIDI editor, an arsenal of pre-built loops and virtual instruments, AudioStretch transcription capabilities, a looper/rhythm maker that includes sample packs with 24 loops in each, and automated mastering.

BandLab says that the future of music making is mobile, and its mission "to break down the technical, geographic and creative barriers between creators, collaborators and the music community" shows no sign of slowing down. The software is free to download, and works on Windows, OS X, Android and iOS devices.

Imagine a social media network for musicians that combines the best of Facebook, GarageBand and SoundCloud. That's at least how it strikes me. So, you set up profile pages like you would on a Facebook or MySpace, and then you either compose your own tunes, or go collaborate with others on their songs. You can then share these songs with the community or the world at large.

That is all from me for now.

Till next time guys!
